Pressured by her father to get married, Hsiao-Hsien urges her boyfriend Han Tung to commit, but he turns her down. The two argue at a friend's wedding and get noticed by the wedding photographer Hsiang-Hai. When Hsiao-Hsien and Hsiang-Hai cross paths again, their lives become intimately intertwined.
