Inspired by real events, “Corazonada” is the story of Marco, a low-ranking lottery worker who, in collusion with the production company that films the draws, plans the biggest fraud in Mexican history, using the magic of television.
Is based on the true story of the theft of “Corazonada,” a multimillion-dollar lottery prize, which was committed in 2012 by a group of government workers whose ambition far exceeded their criminal intelligence. These seven workers were in charge of organizing the lottery and managed to steal 160 million pesos (worth $10 million at the time), but were caught a few weeks later. Starting with the interrogation of the culprits, the film moves back and forth in time to tell the story of how these low-ranking employees were able to carry out one of the biggest and most iconic heists in history.
