Shishikari Island suffers from population loss, so the government awarded it a 5 billion yen grant because Keita Izumi created a popular black fig there. However, a stranger whose arrival disrupts the island is accidentally killed by Keita, his childhood sweetheart, and rookie police officer.

The remote, backward island of Shishikari suffers from an ever decreasing population. However, a young resident, Keita Izumi, produced a black fig there that was very well received, so the Bureau of Local Reinvigoration awarded the island a five billion yen economy recovery grant. As the residents of Shishikari finally have a glimpse of hope, a mysterious man, Mutsuo Omisaka, arrives, and the island's peaceful days change overnight. Suspicious about Omisaka, Keita, his childhood sweetheart, Jun Tanabe, and a rookie policeman, Shinichiro Moriya, accidentally kill him, and decide to cover up the murder. Police officers chasing Omisaka arrive and reveal that Omisaka is actually a psychotic killer. And so, the island's once peaceful days come forever to an end.
