From brand new dramas and docuseries to returning franchises and fan-favourites, here’s what’s new and coming to Disney+ in the UK this month
August brings a new wave of series, movies and specials to Disney+ in the UK. FX is taking us back to the 1980s with the brand new original series FX’s The Shards, the Jonas Brothers return in Camp Rock 3 and after four years in the making, we get to follow the extraordinary true story of a lion cub named Kio all the way into adulthood in National Geographic’s Lion. FX's The Shards

Set against the vivid backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles, the series follows a group of privileged high school seniors at an elite prep school as they navigate identity, sex, jealousy, obsession and the dangers lurking beneath the surface of American adolescence.

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi

The limited series picks up not long after the events of the Visions shorts: The Ninth Jedi and The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope. In the new series, Lah Kara continues to train in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Kara goes on an epic journey of self-discovery as she and Juro’s small fellowship of Jedi-in-training embark on a quest to save her father.
