Warning: Spoilers ahead

Episode one

In December 2024, Jamie and Sophie are trying to conceive, which is a meticulously planned operation that Jamie is finding far from sexy. He’s always feared growing up but Sophie’s dreaming of a baby. The joy of getting pregnant sends them both to cloud nine but reality hits hard as scans, appointments and worries pile up. Will Jamie ever know his water-births from his hypnobirthing?

The pressure mounts as they navigate renovating a new family home, clashes over spiralling costs, and packing up their old flat. Jamie leans on his outspoken mum Penny and best friend Proudlock, while Sophie finds calm in her steady mum Sarah and level-headed sister Georgia. Moving into their new home feels triumphant, but a grand romantic gesture from Jamie misfires. With family all around, they toast an imperfect, chaotic future.

Episode two

With 19 weeks to go, Jamie and Sophie tackle the reality of baby prep. Jamie attempts to learn two small things, how to drive and how to nurture a thriving baby (starting with a robot one). Both prove humbling. As friends dub him ‘Peter Pan,’ he insists he’s maturing, just gradually.

A Cotswolds visit to the in-laws brings generational clashes over Jamie’s candid new book, while Sophie juggles career highs, with post-baby career worries. They hit the shops to tackle a never-ending shopping list; before an argument over a pricey nursery invoice prompts some honest conversations. The couple then head to Paris on a babymoon which brings perspective, and an eventful boat trip. Growing up, it turns out, isn’t instant… but it is underway.

Episode three

In the middle of the night, Jamie and Sophie dash to hospital - it’s showtime. The birth doesn't go to plan and things take an unexpected turn, thankfully their beautiful baby boy arrives safely and is soon stealing the spotlight. Back home, it’s a haze of newborn bliss, emotional first meets and exhausting nights that feel never-ending.

Jamie struggles to find his place, feeling less ‘dad’ and more ‘intern’ to Sophie’s highly competent CEO of Baby Operations. Sophie wants help but also wants to do it all herself. Wise words from her sister Georgia spark a reset for the couple and they prepare for their first night back at work - hosting the BAFTA red carpet. Sophie feels guilty for leaving Ziggy, but it's a much-needed dose of fun before they return to the blissful chaos of life with a baby.
