L'Ora

Palermo in the 1950's: Vittoria Nicastro is supposed to put the unsuccessful communist daily newspaper "L'Ora" back on track as the new editor-in-chief. He and his journalists uncover a series of dubious crimes and link them to the Sicilian Mafia, also known as the "Cosa Nostra." The editors even investigate the darkest corners of society and the Church. It is a dangerous undertaking that repeatedly puts their lives in danger. In 1958, it was in "L'Ora" that the word "Mafia" was used in a headline for the first time to take journalistic action against organized crime. Cosa Nostra's reaction was not long in coming.
