Doctor on the Edge Synopsis
Meet Do Jiui, a brilliant young man striving to become a top plastic surgeon at one of South Korea's most prestigious universities. He has closed himself off emotionally and is in relentless pursuit of success, until he is unexpectedly sent to work on the remote Korean island of Pyeongdong for a year as part of his military service.
Burdened by deep trauma, he sees this island surrounded by nothing by sea as a giant cage. While struggling to get to grips with island life—from residents who very quickly get personal with him to swarms of insects attacking him—he encounters Yook Hari, a nurse hiding secrets of her own behind her gentle smile. His meeting with this woman who has also just moved to the island gradually begins to thaw Jiui's frozen heart.

Do Jiui (Lee Jaewook)
Lee Jaewook—known for appearing in a string of popular titles, including Disney+ Star Original K-drama The Impossible Heir and the Alchemy of Souls series—stars as Do Jiui, a plastic surgeon assigned to a remote South Korean island. In this series—his final appearance before starting military service—Lee Jaewook delivers a subtly comedic performance as a young man who, having spent his life solely pursuing his career in the city, gradually comes to change through his new life on the island and the people he meets there.
Yook Hari (Shin Yeeun)
Shin Yeeun stars as Yook Hari, a nurse from the city who has her own reasons for moving to the island of Pyeongdong. Despite her cheerful and approachable disposition, Hari is burdened with her own secrets. She becomes close with Jiui, who is struggling to adapt to his new surroundings, and little by little helps him to open up.
Furthermore, this series is directed by The Fiery Priest's Lee Myoungwoo and is written by Missing Crown Prince's Kim Jisoo.
