What is Gold Land about?
Hee Joo, a woman from a remote rural town, begins working at an airport with the help of her boyfriend and pilot, Do Kyung. One day, Do Kyung asks Hee Joo to hide a mysterious package. By chance, she ends up with gold bars belonging to a smuggling organisation.
As desire and betrayal swirl around the gold bars, Hee Joo is driven by the wish to keep the gold for herself, leading to a battle for survival.

Kim Hee Joo (Park Bo Young)
The protagonist Kim Hee Joo is portrayed by Park Bo Young, who has shown her versatile acting skills in works like Light Shop and Melo Movie. In Gold Land, she sets aside her trademark charming smile for her first dark heroine role, passionately playing a determined woman desperate to escape her past.
Jang Wook / Wooki (Kim Sung Cheol)
Chasing Hee Joo is Jang Wook (aka Wooki), a member of the criminal organisation and someone who lived near her when they were young. He is played by Kim Sung Cheol, who has made his mark on both stage and screen and gained explosive popularity in Our Beloved Summer. Don’t miss his performance as a man honest about his desires.
Supporting the leads are Lee Hyun Wook, Kim Hee Won who is recognised for his role as a teacher in Moving, and also known recently as the director of Light Shop, as well as Moon Jeong Hee and Lee Kwang Su among other unique actors.
The production team brings significant experience and expertise. The director is Kim Sung Hoon, known for Chief Detective 1958 starring Lee Je Hoon & Lee Dong Hwi, and Confidential Assignment starring Hyun Bin. The screenplay is by Hwang Jo Yoon, who wrote for the film Old Boy and is now writing for his first streaming drama series. Studio Dragon, whose credits include hits like Marry My Husband and Queen of Tears, is coproducing.
