After Ip Man finishes his studies, he returns to Foshan and falls in love with Cheung Wing-sing. Their relationship however faces many obstacles and challenges. Meanwhile, Ng Chung-sok learns that Ip Man has learned Wing Chun from Leung Bik, which is far from the authentic tradition that their master Chan Wah-shun emphasized.
The Legend Is Born: Ip Man
As a young boy, Ip Man trains under the Wing Chun master, Chan Wah-shun. After Chan Wah-shun passes away, he continues training under his senior, Ng Chung-sok. Afterwards, Ip Man bids farewell to Ip Tin-chi, Lee Mei-wai and others training in the same Wing Chun school, and goes to Hong Kong to study. In Hong Kong, Ip Man bears insults and prejudices from the Westerners. Upon finishing his studies, Ip Man returns to Foshan and falls in love with Cheung Wing-sing, the daughter to the deputy mayor of Foshan. As Ip Man faces many obstacles and challenges in his romantic relationship, Ip Tin-chi also takes on an important mission. Meanwhile, Ng Chung-sok learns that Ip Man has learned Wing Chun from Leung Bik, which is far from the authentic tradition of Wing Chun that Chan Wah-shun valued and emphasized.
