In this Italian family comedy, single father Paolo has a close relationship with his daughter Simone – that is until she reaches adolescence, and like so many other teenagers, becomes glued to her smartphone. But when Simone floats the idea of being an influencer, Paolo – who disdains social media – decides to start a social media movement that will test his relationship with Simone and his views.
Genitori vs Influencer
Paolo, a professor of philosophy and a widower, is raising his daughter Simone as a single dad. The two have a wonderful relationship, that is until Simone reaches adolescence and she starts spending all of her time on social media, a creation that Paolo disdains with every ounce of his being. To Paolo's horror, Simone starts to entertain the idea of becoming an influencer like her idol, Ele-O-Nora. In an attempt to mend the relationship, Paolo decides to use social media against itself by launching an online campaign against social media, with Simone as his social media manager. The unexpected fame turns Paolo into what he despises most, an influencer, and brings him to realize the potential good that social media is capable of when handled with care.
