Julius Armbrust is a packaging designer in his mid-thirties, married with two children. He has it all: money, success, his family, his affairs. Until he discovers, on his 12th wedding anniversary, that his wife Paula has a new lover: Stefan, the same age as him, an unemployed graphic designer – a hippy and a loser in Julius’s view. Julius’s whole world falls apart. He pretends to go away to a conference, but instead he stays in the city and keeps Paula and his rival firmly in his sights. He sees Stefan throw his former girlfriend out of their flat after a heated argument. Right away, Julius applies for the room and Stefan welcomes him into his chaotic flatshare, unaware of who this strange man in the expensive suit, who seems to want to throw in the towel, really is. Julius stalks Stefan like a lion stalking his prey, blending into his exotic world as best he can to get to know his enemy, find out his weaknesses, and destroy him. When a drunken Stefan confesses to him one night that he actually has nothing against money, career or power, Julius knows what he has to do. Just one problem: Stefan is starting to grow on him. Julius achieves his goal. Stefan becomes just like Julius, donning a brand-new suit and climbing the career ladder. Julius’s plan works: Paula loses interest in Stefan, who suddenly bears a strange resemblance to her husband. Julius returns home victorious. Or does he?
