South Korea, Ancient's Legends
Devastated in the mid-1950s, South Korea has succeeded (in record time!) in becoming one of the world's most powerful economies. It's an exploit reflected in the impressive architectural boldness of major cities such as Seoul and Busan. Yet when you immerse yourself in Korean society, you realize how much preserving the legacy of the ancients is part of the Korean identity. Contrary to appearances, the Koreans haven't swept aside their past in favor of a Western model: martial arts, calligraphy and traditional agriculture are all references that build the future by extending the path of the elders.
