The film tells of the adventure on a stagecoach trip whose passengers include a drunken doctor, a pregnant woman, a bank manager who has taken off with his client's money, and the famous Ringo Kid, among others.

Set in the wide and dusty western frontier, a stagecoach stops to change horses and picks up a mixed batch of passengers: a mother to be; a gambler; an over-the-hill alcoholic doctor; a saloon girl; and a whiskey salesman. On its way out of town, the bank manager gets on. A few miles further on the Ringo Kid gets on; he has a score to settle in Lordsburg. With the sheriff riding shotgun and a cavalry detail riding alongside, the stagecoach sets off into the wilderness, where Geronimo and his Indians are on the warpath and a well-known outlaw is on the run. As the journey progresses the Ringo Kid and the saloon girl, Dallas, become involved with each other. The alcoholic doctor befriends the whiskey salesman, sampling much of his wares. The gambler befriends the mother-to-be. When the coach stops to change horses they learn that Geronimo and his Apaches are on the warpath. The mother-to-be has her baby delivered by the now-sober doctor. Indian fires are seen in the distance; the stagecoach leaves... it becomes a race against time. As the journey continues, the Ringo Kid is captured and the stagecoach loses its armed escort. Later still, it becomes clear that everyone aboard the stagecoach will need to work together if they are all to survive the inevitable encounter with Geronimo and his Indians.
