Niémans, an experienced police detective, is sent to a small university town in the Alps where a mutilated body has been found. Lieutenant Kerkérian, a reckless young cop, is in charge of investigating the desecration of a child's grave. Other crimes are committed, and the two cases start tying together. Niémans and Kerkérian finally team up to discover a truth beyond their wildest theories.
