Polish caregiver Magda has a big heart and an even bigger mouth, and she won’t be pushed around. After slapping a groper, she finds herself out on the street, desperately needing a new job and a place to live. But not for long. Uninvited, she jumps into a family dispute and offers her services to receptionist Cornelia and elevator technician Tobias as a caregiver for Cornelia’s mother, Waltraud, who has recently been in an accident.
