This third animated feature draws inspiration from the legend of Hercules as Asterix and Obelix must complete twelve divine trials, just like the ancient hero. Julius Caesar promises to hand Rome over to the Gauls if they complete these apparently impossible tasks, including the iconic bureaucratic parody of the legendary Permit A38.

The Twelve Tasks of Asterix

DETAILS

As a small Gaulish village continues to put up a fierce resistance against the Roman troops, a frustrated Julius Caesar challenges its invincible inhabitants to a bet. If they can successfully complete twelve legendary trials set by the gods, he will hand Rome over to the Gauls. Convinced that the tasks are impossible, the Roman ruler fails to reckon with the courage, strength and cunning of Asterix and Obelix, who tackle each challenge in their own unique way.
