At the Burg Geroldseck retirement home, 10-year-old Max has finally found real friends — but they’re anything but ordinary: the adventurous retirees Vera, Horst, and Kilian from Table No. 7 are always there for him. Getting along with kids his own age, however, is a different story. In his new class, he’s being bullied, and to make matters worse, gym teacher Ströhle kicks him out of the soccer team. Horst wants to help and challenges Ströhle to a duel: Max and the “old timers” against the school team. How could that possibly work? But then, to top it all off, strange things start happening in the old castle, and it seems to be haunted.
