Hooten & The Lady is a joyful, rip-roaring, nail-biting, rope-swinging, treasure-filled, bastard of an adventure show with Hooten, a grizzled, cynical, laugh-out- loud funny all-action hero, and Lady Alex Spencer-Parker, the bright, glorious, clever, utterly enthusiastic and passionate representative of the British Museum. It’s exciting, irreverent and fun… It’s genuine adventure - in jungles and deserts and underground shrines and ancient temples. It’s escapism in its truest sense. The jeopardy isn’t whether you’ll come to understand that your parents’ relationship has damaged you emotionally, but whether you’ll get killed by the big bloke with a machete. It’s a show with chutzpah. And at its heart are two compelling characters. Two people who make each other better at what they do, but boy do they annoy each other in the process.
