In a rocky inlet somewhere in France, Bernard, a small and selfish hermit crab, loses his shell. He will have to face the dangers of the beach to find another one. In the company of a weird little crab who helps protect him, both will live through multiples adventures and become friends.

In the creeks, Bernard, a little hermit crab, leave his precious shell after being take by a seagull. He is going to fall on a tourist beach and meet a scruffy little crab called Morice, hiding under his bottle cap. Morice is going to help Bernard protect himself from the sun, until he find a new shell. Both of them will have to run from multiple dangers caused by the touristic activity, and also avoid some objects the tourists leave on the beach. They must also brave some natural dangers like razor shell fields and an army of sea urchins. Bernard, at first glance, is solitary and selfish, but he is going to become friends with Morice, and give up his ego for his new friend.
