In 1592, during the Imjin War, Seonjo entrusts Joseon to the young Gwanghae and fled to the Ming Dynasty. Gwanghae and Bunjo, who leave for Ganggye to gather a civilian army, are escorted by 'Daeripguns' who serve in someone else's military for survival. The leader of Daeripguns, sensing a crisis, decides to join Gwanghae despite opposition from Daeripguns. Gwanghae and Daeripguns, feel that their situations are similar. However, due to the devastating war, divisions occur within Bunjo and Daeripguns.
