Alfonsina Maldonado is a Uruguayan equestrian who survived a devastating fire in which she lost her hand as a baby. Despite living with chronic pain, she became a symbol of resilience, going on to become a Paralympic athlete and represent her country at Rio 2016 in equestrian dressage.


Now, alongside her partner Santiago, she faces the greatest challenge of her life: “The Pass of Tears,” a race in which experienced riders from around the world set out to cover 400 km on horseback across Argentine Patagonia.


Through breathtaking landscapes and intimate testimonies, the documentary invites audiences to follow Alfonsina on a journey of personal growth, effort, and perseverance that transcends sports.
