Always & Forever
"Always & Forever is a journey through the lives of different generations within a single house.
The story begins in the 17th century with a young aristocratic couple, immortalized in a painting above the fireplace. Through a time-lapse of the ever-changing painting, we witness their lives: the birth of their children, the loss of their son, and their daughter growing into a young violinist. Eventually, the painting is removed. We remain focused on the hearth as the house’s interior transforms through time. A mirror replaces the painting, reflecting flashes of a new family’s life in the 18th century. We begin to turn and stop in the 1920s during a lively party. Amidst the crowd, two women sit on a sofa, secretly holding hands, their quiet intimacy a contrast to the surrounding revelry. Time accelerates again, and radio broadcasts announce an economic crisis. We then see a Jewish family in the 1930s at their dining table. The seasons change, and the radio reveals what is going on. The scene transitions to chaos and panicked sounds. The timelapse continues into the 1970s, where a little girl watches a news report about the construction of the Twin Towers on TV. We see her grow up and eventually move out.
Finally, we return to the fireplace we saw in the beginning. A young, modern couple places their wedding photo on the mantel. As morning light fills the room, the story of the house comes full circle, ready for a new generation."
