Wayang Boy

Having just arrived in Singapore from India, Raja encounters hostile new schoolmates on his first day at school. He even gets into a fight with his schoolmates. In order to bring Raja closer to his schoolmates, the Chinese opera troupe teacher forces him to join the club. Raja braces himself to cope with the Chinese opera as he wants to rise to the occasion against all odds. The other parents who do not want their children to be outdone by Raja go all out to get their children chosen as the lead performer. Through the mayhem of putting up this multiracial Chinese opera performance, the children learn the meaning of living together in unity regardless of race, language, or religion. They finally understand that unity is the only secret to a wonderful Chinese opera performance.
