David Loman

Back in the 1990s, when urbanization had not yet taken place in Taiwan, a photographer in the countryside named Zhu Da De singlehandedly raises his daughter, Zhu Hsiao Chin. Sharing the legends of the heroes in the countryside with Hsiao Chin, he is the embodiment of those superheroes to his daughter. Watching her father singing and dancing while telling the stories was her favorite activity when she was a kid.

One day, fate intervenes, and Zhu Da De accidentally replaces Boss Pinch and becomes a gang boss in the criminal underworld. Zhu Da De renames himself, David Loman, to cater to the trends in globalization. He even created a fan page on social media for his gang.

Something has changed about the peaceful life of the father and daughter. Being a softie on the inside, Zhu Da De is always busy solving everyday problems for locals in the name of the gang boss. He ends up neglecting his daughter. In return, a rebellious Hsiao Chin works in a garage and treats Zhu Da De coldly to retaliate against her once-beloved dad.

Xiao Ho, a nerdy student who works at a convenience store, always imagines himself as Superman. He yearns for Lois to appear in his life one day. His father, Old Ho, who runs a feng shui store, looks almost identical to Zhu Da De. Though they always argue due to different ideologies, they actually love each other.

Life intervenes again. Old Ho is assassinated by Pinch Junior when he stands in for Zhu Da De. Zhu Da De teams up with Xiao Ho and forms DL Rangers to avenge Old Ho and uphold justice for the city. Hsiao Chin joins the squad too. She discovers that Zhu Da De is passing as Old Ho, but strangely, she understands her dad better when he is someone else. She is also slowly falling in love with Xiao Ho.

Zhu Da De, having lived as David and Old Ho, earns a career but loses his daughter. When will his real life begin? What choice will he make?
