Glen Powell as Russ Holliday / Chad Powers

Powell plays both Russ Holliday and his Chad Powers alter ego. Powell also helped shape the show behind the camera, co-creating it with Michael Waldron and serving as a co-writer and executive producer.

Fun Fact: Eli Manning’s undercover appearance at Penn State on Eli’s Places (ESPN) in 2022 inspired the character. Manning created the Chad Powers persona, while Powell plays the fictional Russ / Chad characters created for the show.

About Russ Holliday & Chad Powers

Russ was once a promising college quarterback, but a major mistake brought his career to an abrupt end. Eight years later, he disguises himself as the eccentric Chad Powers to earn another shot at pro-ball through a walk-on tryout for the struggling South Georgia Catfish.

The plan gives Russ another chance to play, but Chad soon becomes more important to the team than expected. Every new success makes the disguise harder to maintain and raises the risk that someone will uncover Russ’s identity.

Perry Mattfeld as Ricky

Ricky is the Offensive Assistant Coach and determined to make a name for herself in college football. She and Chad begin working together when they find themselves stuck on the sidelines, but their growing connection makes Russ’s secret harder to manage.

Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny

Team mascot Danny’s quick thinking helps Russ develop and maintain the Chad Powers persona. As the disguise becomes more complicated, Danny helps solve the many problems that follow and later joins Russ on a risky mission behind enemy lines.

Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson

Coach Hudson is responsible for leading the South Georgia Catfish through a difficult period. Chad might be exactly the quarterback the struggling Catfish need. Unfortunately for Coach Hudson, his new prospect also arrives with no credible history and some suspicious quirks.

Disney fans may recognize Zahn as the voice of Runt of the Litter in Chicken Little and Thunderclap in Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur. He is also known for his roles in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie series and Riding in Cars with Boys (Hulu).

Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd

Coach Byrd is part of the South Georgia coaching staff that is helping to turn the struggling Catfish around. His position puts him front and center as Chad’s rise creates new challenges for the staff.

Clayne Crawford as Coach Dobbs

Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager

Tricia Yeager is the head of the South Georgia Catfish booster organization. Her influence gives her a stake in the program’s success and shows how the pressure on the team extends beyond game day.

Colton Ryan as Gerry

New Characters In The Chad Powers Season 2 Cast
