What are Downloads on Disney+?

Downloads mean convenience while traveling. Save select movies and shows in the Disney+ app on your phone or tablet so you can watch ‘em anytime — no Wi-Fi or mobile data required.

How do I download movies and shows on Disney+ for offline viewing?

1. Open the Disney+ app on your phone or tablet and sign in.

2. Find a title you want to take with you.

3. Tap the Download icon (down arrow). For shows, make sure you select specific episodes.

4. Check progress in the Downloads tab. A check mark will appear when the download’s complete.

5. Watch offline anytime, right from the Downloads tab.

Note: Reconnect at least once every 30 days to keep downloads active. Downloads aren’t compatible on TVs, computers, or Windows 10/11 tablets.

Pro tip: In App Settings, set your preferred Download Quality and Download Over Wi-Fi Only settings to manage speed and data use.

Do I need a specific plan for Downloads?

Yes. Downloads require a Disney+ Premium plan or Premium bundle (Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle Premium). Ad-supported plans don’t include Downloads. Make sure to check your account status before traveling.

Downloads are available on the Hulu app in addition to Disney+, depending on your plan. Open your apps to find out which titles and plans support Downloads.

Managing Downloads

• Sync periodically: Watching Downloads on Disney+ requires reconnecting to the internet on your device at least once every 30 days.

• Use kids profiles: Keep little ones entertained with age-appropriate Downloads in their profiles.

Saving Space

• Adjust quality: Lower quality = smaller files and faster downloads.

• Grab episodes, not entire seasons: Download the next few in your queue, watch ‘em, then delete, and Download more.

• Drop old Downloads: When you’re done, select Remove Download to delete from your device.

• Prepare a Watchlist: Gather a selection — movies, shorts, episodes, whatever you’re feeling.

• Sync at home: Hit that Download button before you set off.
