Malcolm (Frankie Muniz)

Now in his mid-30’s, Malcolm is a single father and runs a charity that helps connect food banks with grocery stores and food manufactures. He has a girlfriend, Tristan, who he’s completely in love with and a daughter, Leah, that he treasures. He owes all his success to the fact that he has completely avoided his family for over a decade. 

Hal (Bryan Cranston)

Hal has the same quirky, heart-on-his-sleeve personality and is more devoted than ever to his wife. However, with only one child left to take care of and no chaos in the home to occupy him, Hal is now reflecting on who he is and his purpose in life.

Lois (Jane Kaczmarek)

Lois is still the matriarch of the family. Unlike Hal and Malcolm, she hasn’t changed one bit and never will. Her love for her family may be terrifying at times, but she is the glue holding the family together. 

Reese (Justin Berfield)

Reese can most kindly be called: a work in progress. He’s still trying to figure out what his life is going to look like. Extremely slow progress. He’s gone through some tough times, he has lost jobs, marriages, and friends. But he’s still finding some meaning through sibling rivalry and his genuine talent for creating chaos. 

Francis (Christopher Kennedy Masterson)

Francis has built a beautiful life for himself. He has a stable job and a healthy and loving marriage with his wife, Piama. He’s happy in his adulthood, except, of course, for his neurotic relationship with his mom. 

Dewey (Caleb Ellsworth-Clark)

Dewey is a successful pianist, traveling across Europe on a high-profile concert tour. He makes time to call his family, but for some reason is committed to his life of luxury travel, adoring audiences, and a long list of supermodel girlfriends.

Emy Coligado reprises her role as Piama, Francis’s wife, and Craig Lamar Traylor returns as Malcolm’s friend, Stevie. Malcolm’s youngest brother, Jamie, who was born in season 4 of the original show, is played by Anthony Timpano in the revival. Expect plenty more surprise guest appearances by fan-favorites from the original show.

Leah (Keeley Karsten)

Leah is Malcolm’s teenage daughter, and she shares his quick wit, impulsiveness, and frighteningly high intelligence. The big difference is while Malcolm was always emotionally oblivious, Leah is perceptive, sensitive, and easily hurt by the social struggles of high school.

Tristan (Kiana Madeira)

Tristan is Malcolm's charming and opinionated girlfriend who, by any rational standard, is way out of his league. She is above all a realist and understands that a bad relationship with Malcolm’s daughter Leah would end her relationship with Malcolm.

Kelly (Vaughan Murrae)

Kelly is the youngest child of Lois and Hal. Kelly is self-sufficient, gets good grades, and is the only person in the world who isn’t afraid of Lois.
