Wilsberg and Ekki are invited to lunch at a moated castle by lawyer Dr. Tessa Tilker. Panic ensues when another guest arrives: Sven Degen, a former criminal who once threatened Tessa's life. As Tessa hides, Wilsberg and Ekki struggle to get rid of Degen, who shows no signs of leaving.
