Gerhard Jäger is reassigned from the homicide division to the Duisburg water police, where he joins former competitive swimmer Arda Turan, Dutch officer Frank van Dijk, and secretary Lena Preser. Together, the team investigates cases of drug smuggling, theft, manslaughter, and kidnapping, much to the annoyance of Carsten Heinrich, the clumsy officer who was delighted to see Jäger transferred to what he calls the “duck police.”
