In the middle of the night, retired police chief Richard Linville is jolted awake. A masked man has broken into his house: he tortures Linville to death. Shortly thereafter, his daughter Kate, a Scotland Yard officer in London, arrives—not only to organize her beloved father’s funeral, but also to conduct her own investigation.
