The investigation takes a turn when Maud Perrin, a highly qualified local police officer, and Julien Demarcy, a policeman from the criminal unit of Dijon, discover that the victim's grandmother died in the same spot, eighty years ago. Was it a coincidence or as some elders claim, the result of a mysterious curse? The investigation promises to be far from simple and will allow Demarcy, who has a very tough time adapting to the countryside's habits and customs, and Maud, daughter of a local farmer and capable of making even the most recalcitrant locals talk, to get to know each other.
