Story of “Made in Korea”
Set in the turbulent 1970s of Korea and Japan, the story revolves around Gitae, a man who dominates the underworld, sinking into wealth and power while manoeuvering as an elite intelligence agent behind the scenes. Standing in his way is Gonyeong, a prosecutor fired up with a sense of justice, who obsessively pursues wrongdoers when he sniffs out corruption. What will be the outcome of this relentless chase between two polar opposites?

Cast and Crew of “Made in Korea”
Gitae (Hyun Bin)
Gitae is played by Hyun Bin, who became an international sensation with the legendary drama “Crash Landing on You,” sparking the Korean drama boom not only in Japan but around the world. One of the highlights of this series is Hyun Bin’s performance in fluent Japanese. Don’t miss his charismatic presence as he dominates both action and psychological battles!
Gonyeong (Jung Woo-sung)
Jung Woo-sung takes on the role of Gonyeong. He is well-known in Japan for starring in “A Moment to Remember” (2005), which set box office records for Korean films in Japan at the time. The series features plenty of comedic scenes showcasing Gonyeong’s awkward yet deeply human character, providing lighthearted moments within the intense drama.
The electrifying acting showdown between these two top-tier “handsome men” of Korea is not to be missed!
Additionally, from Japan, popular multi-talented actor Lily Franky joins the cast. He won Best Supporting Actor at the 37th Japan Academy Awards for “Like Father, Like Son” (2013), and the Palme d'Or at the 71st Cannes Film Festival for his lead role in “Shoplifters” (2018). Following his first role in a Korean film with Hyun Bin in “Harbin,” the two team up again, with Lily Franky playing a legendary yakuza boss. The drama also features scenes shot on location in Osaka.
The script is by Park Eun-kyo and Park Jun-seok, known for “The Silent Sea” and “Mother,” with direction by Woo Min-ho, acclaimed for “Harbin,” “The Man Standing Next,” and “Inside Men.”
