The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers are playing the NFL’s first-ever game in Australia, streaming live on Disney+

The first-ever regular-season NFL game is coming to Australia this September 11, as the LA Rams take on the San Francisco 49ers at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, live with ESPN on Disney+. Expect wall-to-wall coverage in the build-up, expert commentary from ESPN’s NFL talent, and a headline halftime performance from the Jonas Brothers.

The NFL Melbourne Game (Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers) streams live with ESPN on Disney+ from 8:30am AEST on Friday, 11 September, with extensive pre-game coverage ahead of kick-off at 10:35am AEST.

Up to 100,000 fans are expected to pack the MCG in person, but Disney+ subscribers get the best seat in the house from wherever they are.

Before Melbourne has its moment, the 2026/27 NFL season opens on Thursday, 10 September AEST, with the New England Patriots taking on defending Super Bowl champions the Seattle Seahawks, a rematch of the last Super Bowl, streaming live with ESPN on Disney+.
