Glimpse inside the latest season of Will Trent, as the GBI tackles darker investigations and the fallout from past decisions.
Will and his found family returned for a new season after season 3 delivered one of TV’s most gripping finales. Always charming in the face of chaos and shocking revelations, Will continues to investigate new cases, knowing that anything’s possible with his friends, colleagues, and dog Betty by his side.
What To Expect From Will Trent Season 4
The new season brings more of the compelling mysteries, heartwarming (and sometimes heartbreaking) relationship dynamics, and witty humour that you’ve come to love.
What is Will Trent about?
Based on Karin Slaughter’s New York Times best-selling book series, the show follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Abandoned as a baby and raised in the Atlanta foster system, Will is determined to build his own community while being one of the force’s very best. With suspenseful cases and touching, funny interpersonal relationships, the show is perfect for lovers of crime procedurals and character-driven dramas.

What happened in the season 3 finale?
Season 3 left many of the key characters at life-altering crossroads. Will was still reeling after finding his biological father, Sheriff Caleb Roussard, and that Angie is pregnant with Seth’s baby. As Will processed his feelings, he, his partner Faith, and APD detective Ormewood also had to race to combat a biological terrorist attack. When we last saw them, Amanda was critically injured in the hospital, and Ormewood’s brain tumour caused him to have a seizure at home.
What does season 4 have in store?
Will tackles new high-stakes cases, all while confronting the emotional scars of the past and complications of the present. His dynamic team returns with gripping new cases and deepening relationships.

Will Trent Season 4 Cast & Characters
Ramón Rodríguez as Will Trent
A uniquely observant and “pathologically scrupulous” Special Agent, Will had a tough upbringing and is emotionally guarded, but we see him open up as he builds his new family.
Erika Christensen as Angie Polaski
Once Will’s foster companion and now his on-again/off-again love interest, Angie works at the APD.
Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell
Will’s partner at the GBI. Initially sceptical of him, their relationship has gone from shaky to strong, with Faith often acting as his moral compass.
Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner
Will’s fiercely protective boss, who’s like a mother figure to him. At the end of season 3, Will visited her hospital bed and told her she was family to him.
Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood
Angie’s APD partner, who has a sometimes-strained relationship with Will.
Kevin Daniels as Franklin Wilks
Franklin’s role grew in season 4, stepping up as a series regular. Angie’s AA sponsor and fellow APD detective, Franklin is often a soothing presence amid the chaos.
Bluebell as Betty
Fan-favourite chihuahua, Betty, came into Will’s life by accident, but the two quickly became inseparable. With her big eyes and mischievous grin, she’s a definite scene stealer.
