DETAILS

Adventure film set in charming South Africa featuring comedy duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, with funny fisticuffs and poker games. The rousing soundtrack is performed by Walter Rizzati. 1950, British colonial Africa. Gruff Tom is a safari tour operator who gives his clients guns loaded with blanks so they can’t hurt hippos. Tom’s smart cousin Slim, a committed conservationist, returns to his home village in Africa after a long absence and tries to sabotage Tom’s plans due to his fondness for wildlife. Slim persuades Tom to set up a safari business with him, but they soon come into conflict with Jack Ormond, a powerful and nasty animal smuggler, played by ex heavyweight boxer Joe Bugner. When a doctor friend of the two cousins reports the exploitation of animals by Ormond, the latter sends his henchmen to damage the doctor’s clinic. Tom and Slim decide to teach Ormond a lesson by beating him and his gang with a number of punch-ups and finally set free all the animals captured by the smuggler. In revenge, after a fictitious trial for a robbery they didn’t commit, Ormond takes them to prison. When Tom and Slim finally manage to escape, they start to free the rare animals captured by Ormond, preventing their export to a zoo in Canada. At the end, the two cousins set sail for the Maldives.
