As Shiro swiftly examines the ingredients, he constructs the evening meal in his mind. Keeping the monthly food budget under 25,011 yen is imperative. Once he returns home, Shiro begins to cook and quickly finishes a dinner consisting of rice, miso soup, and three side dishes. As soon as the meal is ready, Kenji Yabuki (Seiyo Uchino), a hairdresser who lives with Shiro, comes home. The pair are loving partners who refer to one another as "Shiro-san" and "Kenji".
