Anton is paralyzed by endless overthinking — even the smallest decisions overwhelm him. His only companion is his dachshund, until a day in the park changes everything. Searching for a chess partner, he crosses paths with a furious gardener hunting for the owner of a missing yellow boot. Their unlikely encounter gently suggests that human connection can free us from the traps of our own thoughts.

Analysis Paralysis

Anton is the kind of person who thinks too much. Faced with even the simplest of choices, his mind spirals into endless possibilities, doubts, and imagined consequences until he can no longer act at all. Everyday tasks become overwhelming puzzles, and his loneliness only deepens as he retreats into his thoughts. The only companion who tolerates his indecision is his dachshund, but even that is no substitute for real human contact. One afternoon in the park, Anton searches for someone willing to play chess with him — ideally someone more skilled than his dog. At the same time, a gardener is furious: her flowerbed has been ruined, and she is determined to track down the culprit, whom she identifies only by the trace of a missing yellow boot. Their seemingly unrelated quests, one born of quiet longing and the other of frustrated determination, gradually intersect.

Told without dialogue in a colorful, playful animation style, Analysis Paralysis captures the absurdity and tenderness of modern overthinking. Through humor, metaphor, and chance encounters, the film suggests that connection is possible even when our thoughts trap us. Sometimes, it takes an accident — or a missing boot — to set us free.
