The doors to Coven Academy open on Disney+ October 2, adding a supernatural addition to this year’s Halloween movies and shows. Set in a secret school in New Orleans, young witches and warlocks must master their newfound powers and defeat a mysterious force closing in.

Set at a secret academy in New Orleans, the show follows young witches and warlocks learning to handle volatile magic. When a vengeful dark force sets its sights on students who could become the next generation of its coven, school turns into a fight for survival.

The show comes from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series creator Tim Federle, who knows how much drama can fit inside one school year. The story unfolds through a series of fast-paced chapters designed to pull audiences deeper into the magic at every turn.

When will Coven Academy be released?

The academy’s roll call brings together breakout talent and familiar Disney faces.

Malina Weissman as Briar

This witch-in-training is especially close to the central mystery. Briar is discovering the coven she was destined to join, but her mother’s disappearance makes her journey painfully personal. Fans of A Series of Unfortunate Events will recognize Weissman as Violet Baudelaire.

Ora Duplass as Tegan

Another key member of the coven sisterhood steps into the circle. Tegan brings her own power and perspective to the group at the heart of the series.

Jordan Leftwich as Sasha

Sasha completes the trio as the sisterhood’s third central member. Leftwich is known for her role in Family Switch.

Malachi Barton as Jake

Jake is part of the academy’s core young ensemble. Barton recently played Victor in ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires and also stars in Camp Rock 3.

Louis Thresher as Ollie

Boarders alum Louis Thresher joins the core cast as Ollie, a fellow student navigating friendships and relationship drama swirling through the academy.

Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves

With a name that practically arrives in a swirl of fog, Miss Graves’ intrigue may be her connection to a mystery surrounding Briar. Fans of Saved by the Bell, Beverly Hills, 90210, and White Collar (Hulu) will recognize Thiessen.*

Devon Sawa as Mr. Clarke

A familiar face joins the grown-up side of the cast. Sawa is known for his appearance in Casper and also played Junior Floyd in Little Giants.
