Find out what the Disney+ Extra Member add-on includes, plus details on Disney+ Household
Sharing Disney+ is simple when everyone lives under the same roof, but when you want to include someone outside your home, the Disney+ Extra Member add-on gives them their own access without any interruptions. Maybe a family member is moving out, or your mom wants to see the latest Disney+ movies and shows before picking a Disney+ bundle for herself. Whatever the reason, this guide breaks down what a Disney+ Extra Member is, how much the add-on costs, who can be added, and how to add an Extra Member.
Disney+ Extra Member: What It Is & Who It’s For
What is the Disney+ Extra Member add-on?
The add-on lets an account holder add one family member or friend who lives outside their Disney+ Household to their subscription plan. The Extra Member gets their own profile, login, and password, so they can stream without using the account holder’s credentials.
Without Extra Member, anyone outside of your Household will need their own Disney+ subscription.
How much does the Disney+ Extra Member add-on cost?
This depends on the plan you’re using. Check out the Disney+ help center for a full list of up-to-date prices for Extra Member and more.
Who is eligible to be added as an Extra Member?
An Extra Member must be at least 18 years old, live in the same country or region as the account holder, and cannot already have an active Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN subscription.
Can the Extra Member add-on be added to all Disney+ plans and bundles?
Not every plan or bundle supports Extra Member. Eligible Disney Bundle subscribers and standalone Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. can add an Extra Member, but plan availability can vary by subscription type and billing setup.*
The easiest way to check eligibility is with your Disney+ account. In your account, under Subscriptions and Billing, click on your plan to see if Invite an Extra Member is an option. If it does not appear, your plan, bundle, or billing provider may not be eligible.
When does a Disney+ Extra Member add-on make sense?
This add-on is perfect if you have someone outside of your Household who wants Disney+ access but might not need a separate subscription. Plus, they get their own login, profile, and ability to stream and download (only on Premium plans) on one device at a time.
How To Add An Extra Member On Disney+
To add an Extra Member on Disney+, use a web or mobile browser and follow these steps.
Go to DisneyPlus.com and log in to your account.
Select your profile.
Go to Account.
Find the Subscriptions and Billing section.
Select your plan,
Select Invite an Extra Member.
Review the terms and confirm the plan change.
Review the changes to your plan and select Agree & Subscribe.
Enter the Extra Member’s email address and select Send Invite.
Choose an existing profile for the Extra Member or choose New Profile if they’re new to the subscription.

After accepting the invite, the Extra Member sets up their own login and password, along with a unique profile. If an eligible existing profile is transferred, that profile’s watch history and settings carry over. Some existing profiles cannot be transferred, including the account holder’s primary profile, profiles for viewers under 18, and profiles set to Junior Mode.
Disney+ Household Explained
What is a Disney+ Household?
A Disney+ Household is the collection of devices tied to the account holder’s primary personal residence and used by the people who live there. Your Disney+ Household is your home base. People who live in your home can use the subscription as part of the Household. Anyone living somewhere else needs their own subscription or an Extra Member add-on.
How does it affect the Extra Member add-on?
An Extra Member sits outside the account holder's Disney+ Household, so they use their own login instead of streaming as part of the account holder’s Household.

Each Disney+ account can add one Extra Member.
Can an Extra Member stream at the same time as me?
Yes. The Extra Member has their own streaming access, but can stream and download (on Premium plans) on only one device at a time. People in the account holder’s Household can stream Disney+ on up to four devices at the same time.
Can I remove or swap an Extra Member from my subscription?
Yes. The account holder can remove the Extra Member add-on at any time, or swap who’s in the Extra Member seat. The change takes effect at the end of the current Extra Member monthly billing period.
Does the Extra Member get access to Disney+ Perks?
Yes. Disney+ Perks can be used by the Disney+ account holder or an Extra Member on a Disney+ account, as long as the offer terms are met.
Learn More About Disney+ Plans & Bundles
Before adding an Extra Member, it’s worth comparing your current plan with the other Disney+ subscription and bundle options available. Some households may only need a standalone Disney+ plan, while others may get more value from a bundle that includes access to additional streaming content. Plan features, pricing, ads, downloads, and Extra Member eligibility can vary, so reviewing the latest Disney+ plans and bundles can help you decide whether an Extra Member add-on is the right choice for you.
