What is ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays?

Your Sunday plans are set for the summer. ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays is a first-of-its-kind, weekly primetime programming franchise that places women’s sports at the center of the summer sports calendar. The new Sunday destination will feature top-tier WNBA and NWSL matchups, elevating the key storylines, rivalries, and stars across women’s sports on ESPN networks.

When did ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays start?

ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays began in June 2026. The first game in the new Sunday showcase featured the New York Liberty vs. the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, June 21. The matchup marked a full-circle moment, as the Liberty and Sparks also met in the WNBA’s inaugural game in 1997.

How To Watch WNBA & NWSL Games With ESPN’s Women’s Sports Sundays

Watch each matchup on the ESPN network listed for that game, or stream each game in the ESPN App or Disney+ app with an eligible subscription. Basketball fans have plenty to watch this summer. The first WNBA Women’s Sports Sundays game featured the New York Liberty vs. Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, June 21. This matchup took on extra meaning because the Liberty and Sparks also played in the WNBA's first game in 1997. The rest of the Sunday slate keeps the momentum going with more game for you to enjoy.
