“Blue Harvest”
Season 6, Episode 1
During a power outage, Peter regales his family with an epic tale. Casting his family and friends as Star Wars characters, Peter tells the story of Luke Skywalker (Chris) infiltrating the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia (Lois) from Darth Vader (Stewie). Peter, of course, puts himself in the role of a smooth-talking (but not very bright) Han Solo. His telling follows the movie's key beats while inserting clever metacommentary, classic Family Guy gags, and a hilarious blend of each Family Guy character’s wacky personality with their Star Wars counterpart.
Which Star Wars movie does “Blue Harvest” parody?
The special is a riff on Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV). The episode’s title is a reference to a codename used for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Episode VI) during filming.
“Something, Something, Something, Dark Side”
Season 8, Episode 20
When another power outage hits the Griffin home, Peter continues his saga. Familiar Family Guy characters return to their Star Wars roles, with the addition of the Giant Chicken as Boba Fett. The special includes major setpieces, including the Rebels’ defeat on Hoth, Yoda’s Jedi training of Luke, and Darth Vader’s trap at Cloud City, all with Family Guy’s signature tongue-in-cheek tone. Fans of “Blue Harvest” will spot recurring in-jokes from the Family Guy Star Wars universe.
Which Star Wars movie does “Something, Something, Something, Dark Side” parody?
The episode is based on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Episode V).
“It's a Trap”
Season 9, Episode 18
The third episode closes out Peter’s telling of the original trilogy. With commentary on Ewoks, self-aware jokes about making yet another Star Wars parody, and an epic lightsaber fight between Luke and Darth Vader, this is another iconic mix of homage and humor.
Which Star Wars movie does “It’s A Trap” parody?
Named after Admiral Ackbar’s famous warning, the special is based on the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Episode VI).
