When janitor Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) stumbles across an LAPD case file, she uses her extraordinary ability to spot often-missed clues to solve it. Surprised and impressed, the LAPD brings her on as a consultant, pairing her with detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). Karadec’s by-the-book approach clashes with Morgan’s offbeat methods, creating comedic friction as they tackle Los Angeles’ toughest mysteries.

Adapted from the French series HPI (Haut Potentiel Intellectuel), the US version folds Morgan’s home life into the weekly whodunits.
