What is the new Skylar Neese documentary about?

When 16-year-old Skylar vanished on July 6, 2012, it shocked the town of Star City, West Virginia. Months later, when one of her peers revealed what had happened that night, public concern turned to disbelief and outrage. Rachel Shoaf confessed that she and Sheila Eddy, Skylar’s  close friends, lured her to a remote area and stabbed her to death.

Until Skylar’s death, it looked like the three girls were inseparable. But social media posts and messages sent before the murder paint a different picture. When the truth came out, Rachel’s and Sheila’s posts after the crime and their ability to play it cool came off as particularly chilling.

Set during a time when social media was relatively new, this series captures the pressures of growing up in the digital age - and the devastating consequences when love turns to hate.
