Bron Breakker secured his spot by defeating Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page on September 7. A crushing Spear on Mysterio sealed the victory.

Je’Von Evans earned his place a week later against Austin Theory and Big Cass, landing an OG Cutter on Cass to finish the job. Evans already has ladder-match experience on this year’s biggest stage, having competed in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42.

Trick Williams secured his spot on September 18 by defeating Randy Orton and Rey Fenix. After striking Orton with the Trick Shot, Williams pinned Fenix to qualify.

Penta joined the field on September 21, replacing Solo Sikoa in a qualifier against Dragon Lee and Dominik Mysterio. A springboard Mexican Destroyer on Mysterio sealed his victory.

CM Punk earned his place on September 25 against Gunther and Finn Bálor. After Bálor struck Gunther with the Coup de Grace, Punk pinned Gunther to qualify.

Sol Ruca earned her spot after Bayley interrupted Lyra Valkyria’s chance to win their September 7 qualifier, which also featured Maxxine Dupri. Ruca struck Valkyria with the Sol Snatcher and booked her trip to New Orleans.

Lola Vice made her Raw in-ring debut count on September 14. When Raquel Rodriguez’s attempted kick caught Kelani Jordan, Vice capitalized and pinned Rodriguez to qualify. That’s one way to introduce yourself.

Jacy Jayne qualified on September 18 against Alexa Bliss and Jade Cargill. After Cargill hit Bliss with Jaded, Jayne knocked Cargill aside and pinned Bliss to book her place.

Roxanne Perez secured her spot on September 21 by defeating IYO SKY and La Catalina. Perez caught SKY with Pop Rox to finish the match.

Lash Legend joined the field on September 25 after defeating Charlotte Flair and Giulia. She stopped Giulia from pinning Flair, then hit Giulia with the Lash Extension to qualify.

Roman Reigns Puts His Title On The Line

Two of WWE’s biggest fan favorites will collide when Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight in New Orleans.

After Reigns dismissed his demand for a title opportunity, Knight made his next argument more physical. He struck Reigns with a BFT, his signature move, following the champion’s September 14 defense against Penta. Now, Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Knight in New Orleans.

What is Money in the Bank?

This WWE Premium Live Event centers on men’s and women’s ladder matches. This year, six Superstars will compete in each match, with a briefcase suspended above the ring. Inside is a contract allowing the winner to challenge for a championship at a time and place of their choosing within the following year. Past briefcase winners include Seth Rollins, Liv Morgan, and Randy Orton.

How does Money in the Bank work?

Sol Ruca

It sounds simple enough. Climb a ladder and retrieve the suspended briefcase before anyone else does.

Superstars earn their places through qualifying matches. Once the ladder match begins, the first competitor to grab the briefcase wins. Using the contract afterward is called “cashing in,” the moment its holder claims their title shot.

Why is winning the Money in the Bank briefcase important?

Timing can become a weapon. The holder can wait for a vulnerable moment to challenge a champion, keeping the threat of a title match hanging over them. The challenger still has to win that match to take the championship.

Seth Rollins showed how quickly the briefcase can change the championship picture at SummerSlam in 2025. Moments after CM Punk defeated Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship, Rollins cashed in his contract. A Stomp and a pin later, Rollins held the title Punk had only just won.
