As the pressure mounts, Ella learns of a clinical trial where her problem is being looked at as a fertility issue — a chemical imbalance that can be treated with newly-engineered, synthetic hormones and cognitive behavioral therapy. She decides to enroll. Much to her surprise, the treatment starts to work. But the side effects from the medication are making her increasingly paranoid and violent.
