Photojournalist Walter meets Catherine, a lawyer fighting alcoholism. She defends René, a former lover sued by wine merchants. Walter falls for her, but René exposes her addiction out of jealousy. In court, Catherine turns an attack into a defense, confronting her own weakness to defeat her opponents.

Walter, a news photographer, meets Catherine, a young lawyer. She tries to get him involved in the fight she is waging against alcoholism. She is the defense lawyer of a former lover, René, accused of slander by wine merchants. Walter falls in love with Catherine. In a jealous rage, René tells the plaintiffs that Catherine is an alcoholic. At the trial, they use that information against her but Catherine turns the tables on them by pleading her own case.
