The Kau family are high on the social ladder and getting ready for a lavish engagement party. Inspector Karl unexpectedly drops in to investigate the suicide of a pregnant girl, Cindy Cheung. This breaks the joy and peace of the engagement party. Everyone in the Kau family denies knowing the girl. However, with nothing more than a diary book and a photo, Inspector Karl rips off the grandeur façade of the Kau family and discovers that everyone in the family has something to do with the girl’s death.
