Daniel is released on parole from a detention center. He travels to the other side of Poland to work in a woodworking shop, but instead, begins pretending to be a priest.

Daniel is only 20. He ends up in prison in this presumably godforsaken place and experiences a spiritual rebirth. The past however, never forgets and his criminal dossier stands in the way of his serving God. When the chance appears, he decides to cheat. Pretending to be a graduate of a divinity school, he replaces a sick pastor in the parish of a small provincial town.
