Black Sea, My Love

Sevdam Karadeniz tells the love story of two young people caught in the middle of the long-standing feud between the Alazli and Yeniceli families in Trabzon. Zeyşan Yeniceli and Kuzey Alazli, whose lives briefly crossed during childhood, are living completely different lives years later. After her father’s death, Zeyşan leaves her sister Bahar behind in Trabzon and moves to Istanbul with her mother, Şehnaz, where she grows up to become a veterinarian. Kuzey, meanwhile, becomes a fisherman and captain, living closely connected to the harsh nature of the Black Sea. While the two families try to live without crossing paths, the feud is reignited when Kuzey’s sister Nazli runs away with Barva Yeniceli and marries him. Hafize, the matriarch of the Alazli family, escalates the conflict even further and demands Bahar, the youngest Yeniceli granddaughter, as a bride for Kuzey’s father, Medet, in exchange for Barva’s life. Zeyşan returns to her hometown and agrees to marry Medet in her sister’s place to save Bahar. However, no one expects Kuzey to take the groom’s place at the wedding. With their paths crossing once again, Kuzey and Zeyşan find themselves trapped in a marriage of convenience, surrounded by long-buried secrets, and swept into a turbulent love affair.
