With a life of blogging, boys, and parties, everything is perfect; until a new student, Synnøve Risnes, arrives and quickly becomes the school's most popular girl. When Synnøve plans a party on the same day as their annual Halloween party, all rules are tossed aside and their friendship is put to the test.

In Western Europe, on the west side of Scandinavia, in Oslo's western suburbs, lies the best place on earth: Smestad. Tina and Bettina, the most popular teenage girls at the entire middle school, live here. With a youth filled with blogging, boys, and parties, everything is going smoothly for the two girls, until they face an enormous problem: a new girl. A new student wanders into Smestad Middle School and makes herself at home, without asking Tina and Bettina's permission. Her name is Synnøve Risnes, and she quickly becomes the most popular girl in the entire school. When the new girl plans a party on the same day as Tina and Bettina's annual Halloween party, all rules are thrown out the window and their friendship is put to the test.
